NEPAL AND THE HIMALAYAS

Nepal and the Himalayas, a country of the world’s highest peaks and massive mountain range, runs parallel north of Nepal. A country bounded by high green hills, verdant valleys with high snow peaks, and glacial rivers.

Nepal world’s second richest country for hydro-powers, due to its high mountains that feds a network of streams and rivers.

Nepal, an area of 147, 181 sq. km, about 75 % of the country’s landscapes is covered with mid and high hills. Where 25% of flatland known as Terai belts, situated south of Nepal from Far West to East.

The country is also rich in terms of bio-diversity due to its amazing geographical position with the various difference in altitude. The country extends from low 60 m above sea level to the highest point on earth Mt. Everest at 8,848 m. 

 Within a mere distance of 150 km which results in dramatic changes in temperatures from sub-tropical-alpine to a cold arctic zone.

For a small country, Nepal treasures the world’s rare and near-extinct flora and fauna with 2 % world’s flowering plants. About 8 % birds (more than 857 species); 4 % of mammals; 11 world's 15 various species families of butterflies. Includes indigenous plant families; 319 species of rare exotic orchids which are nearly lost on this planet earth.

Nepal captures the world’s 8th highest peaks, namely Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Makalu with Cho-Oyu, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Annapurna.

With world’s highest mountain range makes Nepal the number one destination for all types of adventure like mountaineering and trekking.

Nepal is also holy land, where Lord Buddha was born the ‘Light of Asia’. 

As well home to Sita consort of Lord Rama, as recorded in the Hindu epic Ramayana. Besides high mountains and scenic holiday destinations, Nepal is also famous for its rich culture of ancient heritage.

Where most of the religious and historical monuments are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The charm and beauty of Nepal is the hospitality of Nepalese, where all guests are received with warm greetings.
