On arrival at Kathmandu, Nepal international airport, our guide and staff receives you with warm welcome, and then a short drive to your hotel located in the hub of Kathmandu city. After checking into your nice rooms, with refreshing rest and then meet members for Everest base camp trek, our guide will provide briefing with information regarding the trek, local lodge on route, culture and sightseeing tour around Kathmandu heritage sites. Evening enjoy a group welcome dinner in a typical Nepali restaurants includes folk cultural program as entertainment along with dinner.
A free day in Kathmandu, allowing member to get familiarized with local cultures, as well for trek preparations. On this day enjoy guided sightseeing tour at places of interest, our guide takes you around historical and cultural places listed in World Heritage Sites. After a wonderful day visiting places of great historical and cultural wonders, then back to hotel for final preparation to Everest base camp trekking.
An early morning start from the hotel for interesting drive to Jiri, either in car, coach or in a bus depending upon group size. Drive leads past the city suburb heading east of Kathmandu valley, an exciting overland journey through many farm villages and towns. As drive heads to warmer area of Dolalghat and then following the Bhote Kosi River for some time, and then road climbs on winding uphill on leaving the main road and river behind. As drive continues past lovely town of Charikot and down to Tama Kosi River, and then the road climbs high to reach at nice looking town of Jiri for overnight stop. After checking into one of its lovely lodge, with time to explore the Jiri town and markets area, Jiri also known as Switzerland of Nepal due to its scenic location of green hills, valley with snow mountain range of Gaurishankar and Jugal Himal.
Morning after a good breakfast, then leaving the lodge at Jiri for few hour drive to Bhandar, the starting point of the trek. A rough drive on country dirt road takes you up and downhill past Shivalya farm village and then up to Deurali. A nice Sherpa village, from here on winding downhill to Bhandar, located on a beautiful green valley. On reaching at Bhandar village, from here our walk starts on nice trail past farm areas and rural villages and down to a river, then reaching a nice village at Kenja for possible lunch stop. Afternoon climb uphill into forested area to Sete for overnight stop a small village populated by Sherpa people.
From Sete, climb through cool shade of lovely forest lined with rhododendron and pine trees, as walk proceeds past few small farm areas and villages. As uphill continues with steep climb towards Lamjura-La Pass, a place with few small lodge and tea-shops. After a short rest then downhill within dense forest then reaching at Toc-Toc small village at the bottom of Lamura-La Pass. Here for lunch break, and then continue walk on gradual winding trail with short descend to Junbesi, a lovely large Sherpa village for overnight stop in one of its nice homely lodge.
After a pleasant overnight in Junbesi, morning walk to a stream and then slow climb into pine and rhododendron forest towards Sailung Danda, a place with few houses and shops facing first grand view of Mt. Everest with Khumbu Himal range. From here down to a river then cross a bridge towards Ringmo village for lunch stop on this lovely place. Afternoon walk leads to slow climb into cool shade of forest to Takshindo-La pass, the top marked with Buddhist monuments with few tea-shops around. From this scenic top downhill to Nunthala a large village inhabited by mixed tribes Sherpa, Rai, Magar, Tamang and Hindu Chettries. At Nunthala check into a nice lodge with time to explore around this interesting village.
Morning having good breakfast, then setting off to continue our journey, walk leads through farm areas and hamlets, and then head downhill towards the bottom of the hill close to raging Dudh Kosi River. Cross a bridge with slow climb to Jubing a small farm village, and then climb on winding uphill to Khari-Khola village. A large settlement of Sherpa, Rai and Magar tribes from here onward air gets cooler as our adventure gets closer to Khumbu area.
After a refreshing stop, walk to a bridge and then a steep climb for few hours to Bupsa for overnight stop in a simple small nice lodge, the village stands on a high hill overlooking grand views of surroundings beautiful landscapes.
From Bupsa onward within high Khumbu area, morning walk follows through forest trail with long climb to Piyuin / Paya, a small village amidst forest surrounding with farm lands. The air gets much cooler, a lunch break on this village at Piyun pronounced as Paya.
Afternoon walk leads on gradual winding trail high above Dudh Kosi River, as route follows reaching on top of Surkhe village, facing views of Lukla town and its airport. After a short break then downhill to Surkhe village for overnight stop, located on the bottom of Lukla and its air-field.
After first overnight around Khumbu region at Surkhe, morning walk on easy path with slow climb to a nice farm village of Muse and Ghai-Kharka, then reaching on the main trail of Lukla to Namche Bazaar and beyond to Everest base camp. At Choplung village close to Lukla, here trail of Jiri, Solu and Khumbu path joins. From here on gradual path to Phakding village, walk leads through more Sherpa villages adorned with Buddhist monuments lined with prayer walls and rows of spinning wheels. The day ends on reaching at Phakding in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge close to Dudh Kosi River.
Morning after breakfast, today’s walk takes you to famous Namche Bazaar, quite a long day trek due to altitude gain. Leaving Phakding walk starts on nice gentle up following Dudh Kosi River upstream, crossing bridges towards Monjo village close to Sagarmatha National Park.
From Monjo village enter Sagarmatha National Park. Where route leads to cross over a bridge towards the last village of Jorsalle. After a brief rest or for lunch stop, afternoon walk on river bed covered with rhododendron and pine tree forest. As walk continues then climb to cross the last bridge before Namche Bazaar, rewards with lovely views of Kwangde peaks, on a clear day view of Mt. Everest can be seen on walk to Namche Bazaar.
After few hour steady climb on winding path then reaching Namche Bazaar, one of the largest village almost the size of a town here for two overnight stops with rest days.
A full day at Namche Bazaar a place with various facilities the streets are lined with well-stocked stores and shops with many good restaurants, café’, banks and ATM facilities. Enjoy grand view of Kwangde and Tharmasarku, after breakfast take a short hike to support acclimatization, before heading towards higher ground.
Namche Bazaar a perfect height at 3,440 m for rest day, an options for walks above Namche Bazaar visit the museum close to park headquarter, offers grand view of Everest and Ama Dablam with array of peaks. For energetic people can take a hike to Everest View Hotel for best views of Everest, and visit Khumjung and Khunde village.
From Namche after a refreshing rest, morning starts with short up and then on gentle scenic winding trail facing views of snow peaks, as walk descend to Imjatse River at a small place Phunge-Tenga for lunch stop, afternoon a climb into rhododendron, pines and fir forest then reaching a beautiful spot at Tengboche and the impressive colorful monastery.
At Tengboche for overnight stop with time to visit the monastery of great religious and cultural interest, located within green woodland surrounded by array of snow peaks with views of Everest and majestic Ama Dablam.
After a pleasant morning facing glorious panorama of Everest and adjoining peaks, adventure leads further north with downhill for an hour to a bridge. From here tall tree lines fades for open wide and harsh country, with few vegetation of short juniper and rhododendron bushes as climb starts to Pangboche, the last and permanent village on the way to Everest base camp.
A little further an hour climb to a small settlement of Somare for lunch break, with grand view of Ama Dablam peak. Afternoon walk leads to Dingboche heading east towards windswept country. On crossing a small bridge climb an hour climb to Dingboche for overnight stop in one of its nice lodge, situated beneath North Face of Ama Dablam within scenic Imjatse valley with views of Island peaks towards east of the valley.
From Dingboche, after breakfast start the adventure with short steep climb to a high ridge festooned with Buddhist prayer flags and prayer monuments. After a morning climb, rest of the walk on gentle up all the way to lunch stop at Thugla. A place on route Lobuche and base camp with few tea-houses and a lodge. This is where massive Khumbu glacier melts into a raging stream, situated on a junction of Dingboche and Dingboche trail. After lunch a steep climb for an hour reaching a high ridge of Thugla pass, taking a refreshing break, and then on pleasant high trail Lobuche for overnight stop. Located on the corners of a wide valley with view of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks, a small settlement with number of good lodges for overnight stop.
Today’s walks leads you to our main destination at Everest Base Camp and highlight of the journey, having early breakfast start the trek following a level path for short while, then a short steep climb to a small plateau. As walk continues on reaching a rocky path high above Khumbu glacier then reaching at Gorakshep, a small settlement with few nice lodges, situated on the bottom of Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar rocky hill. Having a short rest, trek continues heading east following a rocky path over boulders close to Khumbu glacier. Finally reaching at Everest Base Camp, located right beneath towering south face of Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse peaks.
Enjoy the dramatic scenery enclosed by giant mountains with close view of tumbling Khumbu Ice Fall that feeds the glacier and river. During Mountaineering expedition the base camp is active with climbers, the whole place is lively with many camps of various nations on expedition to Mt. Everest. After a wonderful experience head back to Gorakshep for overnight stop, after a tough long day to Everest base camp.
Our last big adventure, start early morning and then a steep climb for two hours to reach on top Kalapathar hill with rubble of black rocks at the height of 5,643 meters. Feeling in high spirits on top Kalapathar, the highest spot of the adventure facing fantastic panorama of towering snow-mountain that surrounds the top facing closest views of Mt. Everest at a mere distance. After achieving all the highlights of the journey, return back to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk down to Thugla. From here descend to a flat valley of Pheriche afternoon time can be very windy, as walk progress then reaching at Pheriche a nice settlement with many good lodges and restaurants, where HRA (Himalayan Rescue Association) post is located. An ideal place for lunch stop, and then carry on walking to the end of the valley and to a river, after the bridge a short climb to a high ridge. From here a long descend leads you to overnight stop at Pangboche village.
From here onwards back into green vegetation and tall tree lines, as morning walk leads down to a bridge, with few hour climb to Tengboche Monastery. After a short refreshing stop, carry on trekking downhill to Imjatse River, and then climb for short while past Lobesa and Sanasa villages and then on wide winding path to Kyang-Jima for an overnight stop.
A lovely place on route to Namche Bazaar and Khumjung village, with few good lodges facing grand views of Everest-Ama Dablam and Thermasarkhu, here chances of spotting some wild-life like Musk deer, Danfe a colorful pheasant which is a national bird of Nepal.
After a pleasant overnight at Kyang-Jima, walk leads on the same scenic trail to Namche bazaar for lunch stop, afternoon walk on long downhill to Dudh Kosi River then head towards Jorsalle after crossing a bridge a short steep climb to the entrance and exit point of Sagarmatha National Park. From here a short walk to Monjo village for overnight after a great scenic trek of lovely day.
Today our last day trek of the adventure, an easy walk of 3-4 hours to Lukla, morning begins crossing a long bridge then following a good trail to Phakding, and then through nice villages of Ghat and Choplung. After a good morning walk climb for an hour to enter the main gate of Lukla town, and then walk to your lodge for last overnight stop around Khumbu and Everest region, here with time to explore Lukla town of great interest.
Having early breakfast, short walk to Lukla or Tenzing & Hillary airport, as the plane arrives from Lukla, and then board in a small aircraft for short scenic flight to Kathmandu facing stunning panorama of Himalayan peaks and landscapes of rolling green hills and valley. On reaching at Kathmandu airport, a short drive back into city life of Kathmandu. After checking in to your hotel rooms, rest of the day free at leisure.
Reserved this free day as contingency in case of flight delay and cancellation at Lukla or in the beginning of the trek flying from Kathmandu. This is normal can happen sometimes due to bad weather condition, it is always wise to have a spare day. If all goes well reaching Kathmandu on time, enjoy the free day for individual activities or join in for exciting tour to Patan and Bhaktapur a beautiful cities and worth a visit.
Last day in Kathmandu, depart from the hotel as per your international flight time our staff and guide will transfer you for short drive to the airport for final departure from Nepal, after a great wonderful experience with memorable adventure on Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trekking.
