On arrival at Kathmandu, Nepal international airport, our guide and staff receives
you with warm welcome, and then a short drive to your hotel located in the hub
of Kathmandu city. After checking into your nice rooms, with refreshing rest and
then meet members for Manaslu Circuit Trek, our guide will provide briefing with
information regarding the trek, local lodge on route, culture and sightseeing tour
around Kathmandu heritage sites. Evening enjoy a group welcome dinner in a
typical Nepali restaurants includes folk cultural program as entertainment along
with dinner.
A free day in Kathmandu, allowing member to get familiarized with local cultures,
as well for trek preparations. On this day enjoy guided sightseeing tour at places
of interest, our guide takes you around historical and cultural places listed in
World Heritage Sites. After a wonderful day visiting places of great historical and
cultural wonders, then back to hotel final preparation for Manaslu Circuit
Trekking.
Morning having early breakfast or on the way, a drive either in a car, coach or
taking regular bus towards Gorkha district. Whatever the options drive leads
beyond Kathmandu valley, on a busy main highway of Nepal. Enjoy the exciting
drive overlooking beautiful landscapes of rolling green hills and valleys, as drive
continues past farm villages and towns. From the main highway our route diverts
heading towards Arughat town around Gorkha district.
Drive continues following Buri Gandaki River upstream past low farm land, and
then on winding uphill to Soti-Khola nice farm village for overnight stop.
After a long an exciting drive, with enjoyable pleasant overnight at Soti Khola
village. First day walk starts heading due north west following on gradual trail
within cool forested area past smaller farm areas and cultivated fields, with slow
uphill as walk ends for the day on reaching at Machha-Khola for overnight stop.
The name of this village means a stream for fishing, the species found are small
silver carps, transfer into a simple nice lodge.
From Machha-Khola morning walk starts on winding path towards small farm
areas of Tatopani, a place with natural hot spring to enjoy refreshing bathe.
After walking for few hours with possible lunch stop. Afternoon walk with few
short ups and down to reach a small farm village of Khorla Besi and then reaching
a small nice village of Dovan for overnight, located on a low warm area of semi-
tropical climate.
Having breakfast, morning begins following lovely farm areas with climb following
Budhi Gandaki River to Jagat, the starting point of Manaslu conservation and
restricted region. As walk leads past farm terraces and small patch of cool forest
and then reaching a lovely village of Jagat. A moderate size village with several
good lodges, the village lined with tea-shops and stores. Checking into a nice
lodge, rest of the afternoon time for short stroll to observe local simple farm life
and cultures blend of Hindu and Buddhism religions.
Spending a pleasant overnight stop at Jagat, from here into restricted area of
Manaslu. Morning walk follows a winding gradual path through farm areas within
spread-out villages. A short climb to a high ridge and down to cross a bridge to
Nagjet and Philim, a nice looking village with scattered farm houses and neat well
tended crops terraces. From Philim village as walk continues past farm fields of
growing wheat’s, buckwheat and barley. On leaving the farm village as route leads
uphill to a rocky ridge top within the shade of bamboo forest then reaching our
overnight stop at Deng village. From here onward into strong Buddhism culture all
the way to Sama-Gaon and beyond.
From Deng, morning walk leads to much cooler and higher region as
altitude gradually gains, a nice pleasant walk into cool shade of forest lined with
tall tress of pine and rhododendron. On reaching a high ridge, and then short
downhill to Bihi Bazaar a small village, situated on a river side.
At Bihi for possible lunch stop, as walk leads to Buri Gandaki River following the
river towards small farm villages within nice cultivated crops fields of barley,
wheat and millets. Slowly walk leads to our overnight stop at Namrung village
overlooking closest majestic North Face of Mt. Manaslu with its adjoining peaks.
After Namrung walk gets more interesting, along with grand scenery of snow-
capped peaks, as route leads towards more smaller villages of strong Tibetan
influence with Buddhism culture. After overnight stop at Namrung, walk heads
towards farm fields around Yak herder temporary shelters. As walk enters high
Manaslu valley, on trek notice the native engaged in farming and then reaching
At Lo-Gaon for overnight stop. A nice village surrounded by beautiful forest with
grand view of Manaslu, check into a nice lodge with cosy rooms with time for
stroll visiting an old monastery lined with Chorten and Mani walls facing views of
Ganesh Himal in the east direction.
From Lo-Gaon, after an enjoyable moment having good breakfast start the
morning walk to Sama-Gaon. As route leads within a wide scenic valley as tree
line disappears for short bush of juniper with few willow trees.
Morning walk continues overlooking grand views of snow-peaks as our day slowly
comes an end on reaching at Sama-Gaon for two overnight stops. A large and
main village of Gorkha district and Manaslu areas, where old Trans Himalaya Salt
Trade route passed through to Tibet. As well located on route to Manaslu base
camp and towards our destination at Larke-La pass.
A full day rest at Sama-Gaon for acclimatization before the big climb to the
highest point of the trek on top Larke-la Pass. At Sama Gaon explore around its
scenic view points and walk around the village visiting the Monastery of cultural
and religious interest. One can take a long hike of few hours to Bhirendra glacial
lake which is on route Manaslu base camp.
After a wonderful rest day at Sama-Gaon, having good breakfast morning starts
towards North West. The valley slowly narrows as walk proceeds on windswept
flat terrain. As trek continues facing amazing scenery of beautiful surrounding
landscapes, and then after more than five hours of walk on high altitude reaching
at Samdo for overnight stop. A moderate size village with more than forty houses
with typical Tibetan style for 200 inhabitants living on this high windblown
country.
From here onwards adventure takes you to the end of Manaslu valley as well
district of Gorkha. Morning on leaving the last village of Manaslu valley, walk
leads to the far corners facing towering peaks and crossing streams then reaching
at Dharmasala, located at the base of Larke-La Pass which is known as Phedi also.
At Dharmasala during high seasons where trekkers have to spend overnights in
tents, as the lodge at Phedi is very limited for more than 50 trekkers.
However a nice scenic place for half day, after lunch relax and preparations for
the next early long climb to Larke-La Pass.
Start the climb early morning after breakfast, as walk follows past the guest
house, climb continues past small icy glacial ponds. The winding up hill takes you
finally on top after walking past north of Larke glacier, with grand view of Cho
Danda and Larke Peak.
From the highest spot of the adventure at Larke-La Pass, enjoy dramatic
panorama of Manaslu and Annapurna peaks with Himlung, Cheo Himal and Kang
Guru. The pass is marked with a sign board with name and height of Larke-La
festooned with thousands of colorful Buddhist prayer flags.
On completing the steep up, a long downhill takes you to the other side of Phedi
at Bhimthang for overnight stop, a lovely place with many nice lodges located
amidst beautiful forest surroundings.
A long descend takes you at Larcia, walk further on a ridge to Tambuche at
3,900 m, the bottom of the pass. From here short walk to Bhimthang for
overnight stop after a long, hard day.
From Bhimthang, after a good rest and overnight, morning a moderate walk on
pleasant trail downhill with few short up to Gho, a small settlement in the middle
of forest clearing for overnight stop, before ending the trek at Dharapani village.
Last day walk of the adventure, morning walk follows downhill through lovely
forest of tall rhododendron, pine, oaks and fir trees. As walk continues on
reaching a nice village of Tilje for possible lunch stop. Located above the
Masrsyangdi River, after a relaxing and refreshing stop afternoon a short walk and
climb after crossing suspension bridge to the finishing point of the trek on
reaching at Dharapani, a nice and a large village for last overnight stop around the
hills of Manaslu and Annapurna region. Dharapani situated on the cross road of
popular Annapurna and Manaslu circuit in Manang district.
A leisure morning after a long climb and descend of previous days, having a
hearty breakfast, then board in a local jeep or similar vehicle for exciting drive
downhill towards low warmer areas around Lamjung district to Besisar town.
An interesting drive on dirt trail above the Masrsyangdi River, heading past Tal
Besi and Chamje villages. On reaching Jagat another village with same name like
on the first few days walks. Drive leads down to Syange village and following the
river all the way to Besisar a large headquarter town of Lamjung district for
overnight stop in the comfort of a nice lodge and hotels.
Depart from the hotel at Besisar after breakfast for interesting drive to
Kathmandu, as ride leads towards Trisuli River. Following the river for few hours
and then drive heads on winding uphill, then reaching the outskirt of Kathmandu
valley and city. Finally drive reach you back to your hotel, afternoon free at leisure
for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.
